Backtrack - your hacking platform...

Backtrack 

           Backtrack Linux is a free open source operating system created by combining two previous OSes which were designed for penetration testing(hacking). Backtrack use the Unix kernel ( I'll explain this in another post hopefully ) .

You can find the latest distributions in the home site click here.

Now you can install this OS by using a burned DVD, but I strongly recommend you to use a live CD or a USB drive.

• To create a live CD you just have to burn the iso to a DVD using a normal CD burner .

• To create a live USB drive you'll have to download following software click here to download it.You can follow the instructions there quite easily.

because the above software wasn't really working for me!!

I'll tell you what I did . First I created a live CD then I used the built in UNetbootin software but above will work for you sometimes..

Computer Hacking !! - Secure Your Network

Today computer hacking has become a threat to everyone in the computer community but to fight with this threat we should learn how the hackers break into the systems.So let's begin to learn about this topic.

Hacking is one of the favorite topics in computer community. More formally we can call it penetration testing. This is a small guide to get you through computer hacking.

Here you only find the basic steps .You can get an overview of hacking from it. For more detailed hacking techniques I suggest you to buy a book on hacking.

Steps-

1. Reconnaissance – finding the target info including IP address.
2. Scanning – find what ports are open in the target & find the weaknesses of the system.
3. Exploitation – attack the target.
4. Maintaining Access – maintain the connection between the attacker and the target.

Note-

Although this seems to be a easy don't fool yourself it's not. You should have a good patient mind and some good resources ….
